Article 13 : SERU’s Story (Season.1)

Last updated: 17 Aug 2026
SERU — Guardian of the Golden Drop (Season.1)

Long, long ago... 8,000 years ago, humans climbed cliff faces in search of the "golden drop" from wild bee hives. These scenes were recorded on the cave walls of Alanya, Spain, marking the beginning of a bond between humans and bees that has continued for thousands of years.

But there is another chapter of the legend... one that has never been told before.

In every era, a young child is chosen by the bees to become "SERU" — the guardian of nature's sweetness and wisdom.

SERU holds no magical powers. What she has is a heart brimming with curiosity. Wearing her trusty explorer's glasses, she journeys across the world to learn the story of honey through the ages — from Aristotle's studies attempting to unravel the secrets of the bee kingdom, to honey's use as a fragrant offering in the imperial court of Japan's Nara period, to the medieval era when monks tended their hives as though they were gifts from heaven.

Every time SERU travels, she keeps one "flower of memory" — a symbol that the wisdom of the past is never lost, but will bloom again in the future.

As the world entered the year 2026, SERU joined scientists and the Apimondia network on a journey to uncover a new chapter in honey's secrets, leading to the discovery of an important compound called Melpirole — scientifically proven to help relieve coughing, opening a new door of hope that links ancient wisdom with modern innovation.

To commemorate this pivotal moment, SERU created a work of art that brings the entire story together in a single piece. The hexagonal honeycomb pattern represents the collaboration of people across the world; the lines of the bee's stinger conceal a strong triangular structure, symbolizing the protection of nature's heritage; while the pearl and the sphere of the globe reflect the hope that "the very first gift from the bees" will continue to pass on sweetness, value, and inspiration to generations to come.

And that is why SERU still holds a small flower in her hand, wearing her bright, radiant smile...

Because she has always believed that every great discovery begins with pure curiosity, and that every drop of honey continues to tell the story of this world — a story with no end.

To be continued…
